THE UAE NATIONAL RACE DAY SERIES

Overview
2009/20010 marks the start of the fourth year of the country’s UAE Motor Racing Championship’s which feature on the Dubai Autodrome annual racing calendar and will cater for four series: the UAE Touring Car Championship, UAE GT Championship, Gulf Sport Radical Cup and Sportbike Championship.

Dubai Autodrome in partnership with Dubai based television production company, Talkabout Media shall be producing 10 x 30 minutes magazine highlight programs for the Championship.

The Cytech UAE Touring Car Championship

The Cytech UAE Touring Car Championship series is arguably one of the most popular forms of racing around the globe. This season the UAE Touring Car Championship, is now aligned with global Touring Car racing trends and will feature 3 classes within the series with the big difference being that only two wheel drive cars will be allowed to enter and the introduction of minimum weight caps.

The TOTAL UAE GT Championship

The TOTAL UAE GT Championship will make its debut on UAE National Race Days at Dubai Autodrome. The series is devised along the lines of similar international GT series’, will cater for the exotic supercar machines ie Porsches, Corvettes, Dodge Vipers, Aston Martins to name some. The series will feature three classes GTA, GTB and GTC. Because of the wide variety of cars, an objective classification has been chosen based on a “weight/power” ratio.

The UAE Sportbike Championship

The UAE Sportbike Championship is invariably one the highlights of a UAE National Race Day. The speed and sound of the state-of-the-art motorcycles combined with the gravity defying cornering ability of the top riders makes Sportbike racing popular with fans and competitors alike. The Championship for 2009/2010 will consist of two classes: one for 1000cc Sportbikes and one for 600cc Sportbikes.

The GulfSport Radical Cup

The GulfSport Radical Cup is run under the General Regulations of the DAMC and all competing drivers are members of the DAMC. GulfSport Racing LLC is a distributor of the British made Radical Sportscar and sell and support the cars throughout the Middle East. Furthermore they organise the Gulf Radical Cup series which has grown from strength to strength in the past few years.

On each race day there will be two races for the Gulf Sport Radical Cup, Sportbike’s and Touring Cars and a 45 mini enduro style race for the GT’s. The National Race Day Series is run under the permit of the ATCUAE, organised by DAMC.
